2017-18

Welcome to our 5th and 6th grade class! I am looking forward to working together with all of you to create an educational (and sometimes even FUN) classroom. This is my seventh year teaching, my fourth year at Northridge, and second in the Discovery program. I began my undergraduate work at Pepperdine University, in Malibu, CA, and finished by graduating cum laude from the University of Colorado-Denver with my BFA. I returned to UCD's Urban Education Graduate Teacher Licensure Program to continue my post-graduate learning, and received my teaching certification for Elementary Education in Colorado. Last year, I added my certification as a GT specialist.

In addition to my formal education, I have experience in education as a reading paraprofessional in Denver Public Schools. I have also worked in television and film production, and was even a firefighter at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. I believe that bringing these life experiences into the classroom helps to further engage my students, and helps to create a supportive and instructive environment that allows us all to continue to grow and learn.
